Nostalgic Jem..

Another Indie Polish from Etsy?  Yes, Please.  This is my first polish from Nostalgic Nail Lacquer.  Yes, I'm addicted to all these wonderful polishes that are being sold (or should I say "sold out") on Etsy.  I should really look in to creating my own polishes as homemade polishes are such a hip trend right now.. LOL

This polish I have today is named "Jem" after the 80's cartoon of the same name.  Jem is full of pink and purple micro glitter and larger pink, white hex, and white bar glitter in a clear base... it kinda reminding me of a pink Connect the Dots.

Here is Jem over Bettina Onix:

This is two coats of Jem followed by China Glaze Fast Forward Topcoat.  I love this glitter over black, I love the contrast.  The glitter really pops out.  The formula is amazing.  The base is clear.. the glitter didn't bleed at all and I know it's hard for "frankeners" to find that... Erin (the creator of Jem) found some awesome pink and purple glitter!! :)

I just checked Nostalgic Nail Lacquer's Etsy Shop and Jem currently isn't available.  Hopefully Erin will be re-stocking soon!!

So, what "Indie Polishes" are you loving right now?  Have any new ones to share with me??

Girly Bits.. Cosmic Ocean and Shift Happens..

Hey Guys.. I have another post from Girly Bits today...I'm really digging both polishes I have to share with you.  Pam really has outdone herself with these two gorgeous colors..

First up is Cosmic Ocean over Revlon Royal:
Cosmic Ocean over Revlon Royal

Cosmic Ocean over Revlon Royal

Cosmic Ocean over  Revlon Royal
Cosmic Ocean is a beautiful sheer blueish greenish layering polish.  I love this duochrome! Over Revlon Royal, you can see the green a bit more vividly.  The shifts from blue to green were a bit hard to capture, but in real life, this polish is constantly changing in different lighting.  I will have to try Cosmic Ocean over a deep green or black base next time.  It's so pretty.  Above is two coats.

Ahhh... I saved the best for last... Shift Happens...............

Shift Happens:

OK, so this one may be the coolest polish ever!!  Shift Happens (such a cute name) is an awesome multichrome polish that shifts from red, to green, to yellow.. maybe there's a little orange and gold in there too! Ahhh... amazing.  I layered two coats of Shift Happens over Bettina Onix and the results are so gorgeous!!  I'm so glad I ordered a large bottle of this one!!

Pam sometimes sells her Girly Bits Polishes directly from her site HERE!
Soon you'll be able to buy these beauties at Llarowe HERE!

The prices for these two are $7 for 5ml bottles and $11.50 for the full sized 15ml bottles.
Keep your eyes peeled for these pretties to go on sale soon!!

Girly Bits.. Hippity Hop, Promise Me and Magically Delicious

Happy Monday Everyone!  I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  I was busy swatching during much of the daylight hours, especially on Sunday because it was sunny and nice!  :)

Today I have three polishes to share with you from Girly Bits' Calendar Girls Collection.

First up is Hippity Hop:
two coats of Hippity Hop over OPI Planks A lot

two coats of Hippity Hop over OPI Planks A lot
Pam describes Hippity Hop as: "multi colored pastel and holo glitter, and tiny purple glitter in a translucent sparkling purple base."  I really like this "pinpoint" type glitter.. it's unique to anything I own.  Hippity Hop is such a pretty "Easter" glitter.  It's very versatile and can be worn over various colors as well as on it's own with three generous coats.

Next up is Promise Me:
two coats of Promise Me over OPI Pink Friday

two coats of Promise Me over Pink Friday
Promise Me is: "holographic and opalescent hex glitter, and pin point holo glitter, floating in a sparkling pink base."  This one is beautiful also.. The glitter reminds of the glitter in Hippity Hop.  This is such a pretty pink and this one could be work alone also with three coats. (Pam named this polish after her daughter who will be releasing a song entitled "Promise Me).

Lastly is Magically Delicious:
two coats of Magically Delicious over China Glaze Gaga For Green

two coats of Magically Delicious over China Glaze Gaga For Green

two coats of Magically Delicious over China Glaze Gaga For Green
Magically Delicious is described as: "tiny green holographic glitter, in a clear base, along with gold squares and gold hex glitter."  I love this one!! It my favorite of the three..  I really like the large square glitter and I was amazed how easily this one was to apply.  I really didn't have to "fish" to get the larger glitter like you have to with some!  Magically Delicious is sooo perfect for St. Patrick's Day and I think I've found a wonderful combo with Gaga For Green!!  :)

Girly Bits are available through Pam's site directly (when the shop is open) and soon you'll be able to buy Girly Bits through Llarowe!!!

Pam currently offers 5ml bottles for $6 each and 15ml bottles for $10 each..
(Color Shifting Polishes are $7 for 5ml and $11.50 for 15ml bottles)

**Stayed tuned for tomorrow's post for two more gorgeous shades from Girly Bits!!!**

** Some polishes were provided for review **

Sunflowers with a dotting tool....

Hey All.. Just a quick Sunday post...Sarah At Chalkboard Nails is hosting a Nail Art Contest and I decided to enter.  Just be as creative as you can with a dotting tool and enter!!  I really haven't attempted too much nail art, but I gave it my best.. (don't laugh)..

Here are my sunflowers made with dotting tools:

I kinda liked them until I added the seeds.. ugh.  Practice makes perfect.. I need a little practice ;)

Deborah Lippmann It's Raining Men and Lynnderella Ruby Red Ruby

Happy Saturday Everyone!!  I have two gorgeous polishes to share with you today!!  I love reds just about as much as I love pinks and these two are a match made in heaven!!  I ordered a few polishes from apothica and It's Raining Men was one of them.  This polish is one of my all-time favorite reds!!

Deborah Lippmann It's Raining Men:

It's Raining Men is my first creme by Deborah Lippmann.  I have a handful of shimmers and glitters, but this flawless cherry red creme is my favorite!!  The formula was a dream... I think I could have applied it with my eyes closed!!  This red is cool-toned, so it matches nicely with my skintone.  This will be my "go to red" for a while!!  (Thank You, Erika for pointing this one out to me!!) :)

A few weeks ago, Llarowe put some Lynnderellas up for sale, I was lucky enough and quick enough to snag Ruby Red Ruby.  I've been lemming this one for a while, so I was thrilled to get my hands on it..

Ruby Red Ruby over It's Raining Men:

Some of you may be "over" the Lynnderella hype, but I'm not.. I absolutely love her glitters!!  Above is two coats of RRR over IRM.  Ruby Red Ruby is a sheer red base with red micro glitter, hexagons and squares.  I'm really amazed how smooth the last few Lynnderella I've worn have been.. I applied a thin coat of gelous followed by China Glaze Fast Forward Topcoat and I was good to go..  I really love this mani.. two perfect reds!!

What are your favorite reds??  Enjoy your weekend!

PS-- No Skeptical Saturday Mani this week.. I have too many polishes I really love to show you!!

ManGlaze ILF and Lacquistry Silver Shredded..

Hey Guys..  Yay, another ManGlaze to show you!!  I've been drooling over this one since I ordered it a few weeks ago.  ManGlaze makes THE BEST matte polishes!  You seriously have to have at least one.. Check out their Facebook Store HERE!  ILF may be my favorite ManGlaze..  Take a look at this gorgeous sea foam green..

ManGlaze ILF:

You can see how smooth it is right in the pictures!!  Most other brands of mattes are such a pain to apply because they dry too fast and end up gloopy!  ManGlaze Polishes are such a breeze to apply and the opacity is perfect.  Above pictures are two coats of ILF, but I really could have gotten away with just one!!  I love it!!

So, I've been acquiring tons of "indie" polishes lately... Etsy is my new favorite store!! ;)  When I saw Lacquistry was stocked full of wonderful polishes, I had to snag one or two.  I chose Silver Shredded..  it's so neat.  It's like small pieces of foil suspended in a clear base..

Silver Shredded over ILF:

Maybe it reminds me more of broken glass.. hmmm.. either way, I really like these two polishes together.  Silver Shredded adds the shine of a topcoat to ILF along with the cool glass/foil pieces..  Silver Shredded was easy to apply.  Pictured above is only one coat.  I've noticed the Lacquistry Shop on Etsy is currently closed, but she'll open again soon.  I think everyone is going through the "Indie Polish Craze" right now!!

Have a wonderful weekend!! :)

Weekly Water Marble 2/23/12

Hey Guys, It's time for my Weekly Water Marble.  I really wasn't feeling this one and I almost didn't post it, but I spent some time on it, and I'm not going to like every marble I do, so I'll share with you..

For this marble I applied a basecoat of Zoya Snow White to each nail, then used Snow White, Bettina Starfish, Bettina Mojito, and Bettina Sunrise for the marble:

Meh, the colors bled a bit.  The green on my index finger doesn't look so green.. lol.  I was trying to put together a pretty color combo, but I'm just not feeling this one.  I like my pinkie and ring fingers the best.  I should have done each finger like them, by dragging the toothpick through the "bullseye" a few more times before dipping my finger on the pattern.

Here's to next week's marble... I'll try to make it extra special ;)

OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips and butter LONDON Disco Biscuit

Happy Pink Wednesday!  I have two new gorgeous pinks to share with you today!!  OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips from the 2012 Spring Holland Collection and butter LONDON Disco Biscuit from their new Spring Collection..

First up is OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips:

I just love all the new cremes OPI released with the Holland Collection.  Kiss Me On My Tulips is no exception.. Hot Pink + Creme = two of my favorite things in a polish!!  This one isn't too bright.. it's just right.  It's a cooler toned pink, so Kiss Me On My Tulips goes nicely with my skintone.  Pictured above is two coats.

I was going to swatch butter LONDON Disco Biscuit on it's own, but thought it may turn out too sheer, so I paired it up with Kiss Me On My Tulips..

Disco Biscuit over Kiss Me On My Tulips:

This is two coats of Disco Biscuit over KMOMT.  Disco Biscuit is a thicker pink jelly with puple/pink sparkling micro glitter.  Disco Biscuit looks darker than it actually is over KMOMT.  Disco Biscuit dries a bit dull and it's gritty to the point where it could almost use a thin coat of Gelous before a topcoat.  I do like this one, though.  It's unique to my collection.  Next time, I'll wear it alone on a sunny day so it will really shine!!

Have a great day!!

Megan Miller Ganache and Lynnderella Chocolotta Love..

Hi All..  I told myself I would save these Lynnderellas and wouldn't swatch them all at once, but I can't help myself.. I just love them!! :)  Anyway, I just chose this Megan Miller polish with a voucher I had for bloom.com and thought it would match perfectly with Lynnderella Chocolotta Love..

Here is Megan Miller Ganache alone:

Ganache is a gorgeous deep chocolate brown.  It's my first Megan Miller polish and I'm impressed.  The formula is great, reaching full opacity with two coats and the color is simply stunning.  I'm a sucker for a rich dark brown, so I knew I'd love this one.  The finish is so shiny too! (The bottle is cute, also.. the cap is a cork!!)

I hated to cover Ganache up, but I had this post planned using it as "underwear" for Chocolotta Love..

Lynnderella Chocolotta Love over Megan Miller Ganache:

It wasn't easy to snap a good picture of Chocolotta Love.. it was hard to capture all the random specks of color... Chocolotta Love reminds me of a brownie filled with rainbow m & m's.  Lynnderella describes Chocolotta Love as: "A blend of brown multi-sized hexagons and squares, black micro glitter, as well as scattered yellow, red, purple, turquoise, lime and emerald "candies" in a sheer chocolate base."  I love this glitter.  Maybe a lighter golden base would have been a better color to use so the black micro glitter would be more profound.  Pictured above is two coats of Chocolotta Love, one coat of Gelous, followed by China Glaze Fast Forward topcoat.

What do you think of this new Lynnderella Collection?  Which is your favorite??

HITS Mari Moon.. Unconventional

Happy Monday Everyone!!  I hope you all had a great weekend!! I just received a few HITS polishes I ordered in a group-buy and wanted to share my first Mari Moon with you!  It's called Unconventional and it's a pretty multichorme polish.  Unconventional has beautiful shades of red, blue and some purple..

Unconventional:

The final result is really pretty, but the brush, the formula, and the bottle are all enough to convince me not to buy any more Mari Moons.  The brush is thick and wonky like a broom.  The formula is thick and gummy (above is three coats) and it takes forever to dry.  The bottle is tiny and the label is right on the handle, so as I would paint my nails, the lettering on the label would disappear :(  Ugh..

Do you have any Mari Moons?  What do you think of them?

Skeptical Saturday Mani.. Essie Dive Bar

I chose Essie's Dive Bar for this week's Skeptical Saturday Mani..  I thought I would love the color on my nails because it's such a pretty shimmery blue/black with a hint of purple in the bottle, but after I applied Dive Bar, I wasn't so sure.. What do you think??

Essie Dive Bar:

Eh, this one looks prettier in the bottle.  I think I like Essie for their wonderful lighter creme polishes, but I just haven't been too crazy for their dark shimmers or metallics.  Dive Bar is ok.. I may wear it sometime, but for now it's resting comfortably in my helmer..

Have a wonderful weekend Everyone!!

Pretty and Polished.. Bubble Tea and Party On My Yacht..

Hey Guys, Just a quick post today.  I have a cold/the flu/whatever and I feel like hell.  Luckily I swatched a few polishes the other day, so I'm still able to write a quick post and share two with you.  :)

Today's polishes are more frankens from another Indie Seller on Etsy.  Chelsea from Pretty and Polished is so talented at mixing up great polishes...  Here are two I recently purchased.. Bubble Tea and Party on my Yacht.

First up is Bubble Tea:

Pictured above is three coats of Bubble Tea with Out the Door topcoat.  Chelsea describes Bubble Tea as a "soft light pastel green with tiny white glitter and medium black hex glitter."  I like the milky base and the white glitter that reminds me of sugar..  This polish is pretty and unique..
I had never heard of Bubble Tea until I saw this color of polish and googled it, but it looks just like it:

Next up is Party On My Yacht:

Pictured above is three coats of Party on My Yacht..  This color is so fun!  I love the milky white base.  The multi-colored glitter is like cupcake sprinkles and I love the random blue bar glitter that pops up here and there.  For a glitter polish, Party On My Yacht was amazingly easy to apply.  After three coats, the glitter spread evenly on my nails and the formula is wonderfully consistent!

I love these polishes so much.  You can purchase them at Chelsea's Etsy Store here.  Right now I see Party On My Yacht is out of stock, but Chelsea re-stocks quickly, so just keep an eye out..

Thanks for stopping by today.. Enjoy your weekend!!
