Color Club In True Fashion Fall 2012 Part 2

Happy Friday!  Today I have Part 2 of my swatches of Color Club's In True Fashion Fall 2012 Collection.  On Monday, I posted Part 1 and now I'm sharing the remaining six cremes..

Fashion Moment:

Fashion Moment is a very deep Eggplant creme...  In real life this one almost looks black.  I used three coats for full coverage.  It's vampy, it's fall-ish, I have a zillion dupes, but I still like it.  :)

By Design:

By Design is also much darker in real life.  It's a pretty plum creme with a nice formula and shine.  I have three coats in the above pics.

In The Limelight:

I absolutely love In The Limelight!  It was made for my skintone!!  In the bottle, I thought: "Eh, it's ok."  Once on my nails.... I couldn't stop staring!!  The formula was great too.. I don't even think I had to "clean up" anything.  In The Limelight is definitely my current favorite Periwinkle Creme!! I have three coats in the above pics.

Muse-ical:

I love grays, so I knew I'd like Muse-ical before I even applied it.  Muse-ical will be great for nail art (especially marbles).  Muse-ical will make a great base for a lot of dark glitters I have, too.  I also like it on it's own.. pictured above is three coats in direct sunlight.

Style Icon:

Style Icon is a burgundy creme.  It kinda applied unevenly, but after three generous coats, everything evened out.  I am impressed with the finish of all these cremes.. they're all so bright and lively.

Look Book:

Look Book is a classic bright red creme.  I love reds with blue undertones-- they mesh with my skin so nicely.  Once again, although I have two tons of colors like Look Book, I still like it.  The formula is sheer, but the finish is beautiful, so it's worth applying the extra coat.

**All in all, this collection is a hit.  I'm sure I'll use most of these cremes again and the shimmers/metallics/duochromes I reviewed earlier this week were nice.  In The Limelight is, hands down, my favorite of the cremes, but that's just my own personal preference.  My biggest complaint would be the sheer formula, but, like I said, if you don't mind applying more than two coats, each of these polishes has a great finish!!**

This collection is available now at shopcolorclub.com for $8 per bottle.  All Color Club products are made in the USA and are not tested on animals.  All nail colors are vegan, formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP free.

Weekly Water Marble 9/27/12

Hi All!  I feel like I haven't marbled in a while so I was so happy to finally have the time to create this fun Fall Swirl....

Funky Fall Swirl:

Someone commented on my Instagram these remind them of Reese's Pieces and I have to agree.  I love doing swirl patterns and I finally broke down and used Fall colors (I didn't want summer to end!).  For this marble I started with a white base and for the actual marble I used OPI Danke-Shiny Red, OPI Need Sunglasses?, OPI A Roll in the Hague and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Bittersweet.  Bittersweet has become my "go-to brown" lately.. I just love it.  I wish Danke-Shiny Red would have been a bit more prominent in this marble, but since it's more of a shimmer, it wasn't as thick as the other colors.  I love this marble.. it's funky, it's retro and it screams FALL!!

Have a great Thursday!! :)

Three polishes from Sonoma Nail Art's Halloween Collection

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!  The week is half-way done!!  :) Yay!! I'm not sure why I didn't just buy all four of the Halloween polishes by Sonoma Nail Art, for some odd reason I just chose these three..

Here Lies Robert:

This is Here Lies Robert...I used two coats over China Glaze Recycle followed by topcoat.  I should have just used one coat because two is just a bit too much.  Here Lies Robert contains green, black and silver glitter in a clear base... the black diamonds are my fave!

Sincerest  Pumpkin Patch:

I really like Sincerest Pumpkin Patch!  The colors perfectly represent a pumpkin patch!!  I should wear this one when we pick our pumpkins!!  Sincerest Pumpkin Patch contains mostly green and orange glitter with a few scattered silver squares and some micro yellow in a sheer green base.  I layered two coats of SPP over China Glaze Tree Hugger followed by topcoat.  I'm sure this could be worn on it's own with three or more coats.  It's perfect for Halloween!!

Deadly Zins:

Deadly Zins contains mostly red glitter with some black and deep purple in a clear base.  I have two thin coats of Deadly Zins over China Glaze City Siren followed by topcoat in the above pictures.  The formula is flawless and the glitter ratio is perfect with this one.  I thought Here Lies Robert would be my favorite out of these three, but Deadly Zins and Sincerest Pumkin Patch tie for my fave!!

These pictures were all taken with my Ottlite and I'm still trying to decided if I like it or not???  I like natural light the best, but when it's too cloudy or I'm swatching at night, I have no other choice...

**I really love all polishes by Michelle at Sonoma Nail Art... Michelle's a great person would takes pride in her work as a polish creator!  If any of you are familiar with her polishes, you know when her Etsy shop opens, it usually sells out in under a minute.  Keep your eyes open for these beauties to go on sale again here on Etsy.  Follow Sonoma Nail Art here on facebook so you'll be up to date on shop openings and new releases!**

Pomegranate Nail Lacquer Cuddles and Lust in the Library

Happy Tuesday Everyone!  Today I have a new-to-me brand called Pomegranate Nail Lacquer.  Both of these colors just became available at pomegranatelacquer.com for $9 each.

First up is Cuddles:

Cuddles is a deep dusty shimmery rose color with orange/gold undertones.  The formula is quite sheer.  I used three coats for the above pictures.  If you're a fan of warm toned rosey-orange polishes, you'll like Cuddles... I tend to like cooler tones, but Cuddles has a nice finish.

Lust In The Library:

Lust In The Library is so much more my style.  It's a gorgeous deep purple (eggplant) with a bright and shiny finish.  Lust In The Library is highly pigmented.  I could have gotten away with one coat, but I applied two just out of habit.  Love this one!

**I'm glad I discovered Pomegranate Nail Lacquers.  I will definitely keep my eye out for new releases and swatches of their other colors. I was just browsing through their website and noticed some older colors are half off right now.. I may have to grab a few!!**

All Pomegranate Nail Lacquers are 4-Free, made in the USA, and are not tested on animals.

Color Club In True Fashion Fall 2012 Part 1

Happy Monday Everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend!  Today I have six of the twelve new colors from Color Club's In True Fashion Fall 2012 Collection.  These six are shimmers, metallics and/or duochromes.  I'll be sharing the remaining six cremes later this week.

Editorial:

A Peridot Dupe?  Yep... but I'll take it.  It's way more affordable than the original and it's gorgeous!  I love the gold/green shift change.  I did use three coats of Editorial for full opacity as the formula is a bit sheer.

Show Time:

Show Time is a gorgeous deep charcoal metallic with loads of shimmer.  I love charcoals and deep grays, so Show Time is easily one of my favorites of this collection.  This one was a three coater too and topcoat is a must with Show Time as it's a tad gritty, but so chic and stylish!

Model Behavior:

Ok, for a copper/bronze, Model Behavior is nice, it does have a pretty shimmer... just not for me.  The formula is sheer with this one too.  You'll need three coats and Model Behavior streaked pretty badly too.

Personal Stylist:

Color Club lists Personal Stylist as a duochrome, but I'm just not seeing it.?  It is a pretty blue metallic, but once again, the formula is really sheer... three coats are needed and you can still see a little balding close to my cuticles.  If you're wanting this one because you think it's a duochrome, don't buy it because I'm not seeing it at all. :(

Port-Folio:

I just love Port-folio!  It's the perfect purple/green duochrome!  Once again, the formula is sheer, but after three coats, it's amazing!!  I wore Port-folio for a few days and received tons of compliments.  It's funny how the "average person" has never even heard of a "duochrome polish".  I just kept glancing at my nails to see the different shifts of Port-folio.  If you're only going to buy one of these, this one is it!!

First Looks:

First Looks is a stunning blue-black metallic shimmer.  It's very highly pigmented.. I almost got away with one coat (which was quite a relief since the others were so sheer).  Color Clubs lists this one as a "Blue Green Metallic", but I'm not seeing any green.  Regardless, it's beautiful and will get much use by me this fall/winter.

**I'm kinda on the fence with these six polishes.  I really love three of them (First Looks, Show Time and Port-folio).  I like Editorial,  but the remaining two were just kinda "meh."  The sheer formula is another turn-off, but if you don't mind applying that third coat and then the "dry-time",you'll be ok.  I'm looking forward to trying the remaining six cremes from this collection.  I do love a good creme... hmmmm?  maybe I'll try a water marble with them :)

This collection is available now at shopcolorclub.com for $8 per bottle.  All Color Club products are made in the USA and are not tested on animals.  All nail colors are vegan, formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP free.

The Polish Bar Rainbow Jello

Ahhh, the weekend's here and I have a super fun polish to share with you all!!  Have you tried any polishes from The Polish Bar yet??  You should.  They are amazing!!  Janice at The Polish Bar just released a late summer collection and Rainbow Jello is included in this collection and it rocks!!  Take a look..

The Polish Bar Rainbow Jello:

This polish is like a Fun-fetti cupcake on your freaking nails!!  I'm pretty sure it's THE funnest polish I own!! Rainbow Jello has rainbow (duh) hex, micro white, medium and a few large white hex, and sparse white bar glitters in a "cr-elly" (creamy jelly) white base.  I have two coats of Rainbow Jello over Zoya Snow White followed by topcoat in the above pics. Love it!!

The base of Rainbow Jello is sheer enough to layer over dark bases... look..

Rainbow Jello over Color Club Personal Stylist:

I was swatching some dark colors and thought I should try Rainbow Jello over one just to see how it would look and I really like the results.  Color Club Personal Stylist is a royal blue and with one coat of Rainbow Jello, it looks light blue/gray...  So much fun!!

**Hurry over to The Polish Bar and pick up Rainbow Jello or another one of Janice's beautiful polishes now!!**

Have a great weekend!!

Soulstice Napa and Lisbon

Happy Friday Everyone!!  Fall is officially here and I can feel it in the air!!  Here are two colors perfect for Fall...  Napa and Libon, both from Soulstice.

Napa:

Napa is a gorgeous classic red with just a hint of gold undertones.  The formula is amazing.. almost a one-coater!  Also, Napa didn't stain nearly as bad as most reds I've come across lately.  This is a gorgeous candy-apple red that just screams "Autumn's Here!!!!"  I love it.  I have two coats of Napa in the above pictures.  Napa is a brand new shade so snatch it up quick!!

Lisbon:

I'm in love with Soulstice Lisbon!  It's a deep dark midnight navy with a beautiful shine!  Application with Lisbon was perfect too... two flawless coats and you're good.  I will definitely be wearing this one tons this Fall and Winter.  Lisbon will be a "go to color" for me.

**I'm really impressed with Soulstice Nail Polishes.  I own a handful and they're all top notch.  I highly recommend Soulstice and they're priced pretty reasonably at $8 each.  Check out the entire selection here at soulsticespa.com.
